PhD in Bremen, Germany. |

Tabletop Interface" with Anna Xambó (Open University), Eva
Hornecker, Paul Marshall (UCL), Sergi Jordà (Universitat Pompeu
Fabra), and Chris Dobbyn and Robin Laney (Open University),
appeared late 2013 We've published an interactions article presenting some of the core ideas and motivations of our EU meSch project that UoS is involved in. meSch has the goal of co-designing novel platforms for the creation of tangible exhibits at heritage sites, based on DIY technologies, so that curators can offer visitors new interactive experiences by means of material interaction with smart objects.

My
research interests are the design and user experience of
'beyond the desktop' interaction (this includes multitouch
surfaces, tangible interaction, whole-body interaction, mobile
devices, and physical(ly embedded) computing), support of
social/collaborative interactions, and, very generally, the
social/societal implications of technology. One of my specific
areas of interest is in interactive museum installations.
We are continuing our work on media facades and urban space installations at BUW, and e.g. run student group projects on these topics. We now collaborate with the Media Architecture Master program, where students developed interactive concepts for facade mappings for a festival this summer in Meiningen. Report on creatorsproject about the facade mapping event in the city of Meiningen in August 2014, celebrating the 100 year commemoration of Duke George II which was developed as a collaboration between media-architecture and media-computing students from BUW. Our students built a machine for the audience to steer the projections with. Our 'Interactive Costumes' student project demoed at the WearIT Festival in Berlin in October 2014 |
Eva currently is a TPC member for the Creativity&Cognition conference 2015, she was an AC for CHI'14, was an AC for CHI'13, Theme Chair on the Design Processes theme for ACM DIS'12 in Newcastle UK, ACM CHI'12 Interactivity Explorations chair - Poster co-chair for ITS 2012 and now also for 2013 (Interactive Tabletops and Surfaces) - 2013 was a busy year!

| Over summer 2010, we conducted a formative user study of five touchscreen and interactive table prototype installations for the National Trust Scotland. The new Robert Burns Birthplace museum in Alloway hosts the final installations and some of the flash-based games we tested are also available on their website.
